_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_5_font=&#8221;|700|||||||&#8221; header_5_text_color=&#8221;#750059&#8243; header_5_font_size=&#8221;18px&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>In yesterday&#39;s reflection, we explored how an unhealthy lifestyle could greatly impact us.\u00a0 While our lifestyle is built on our everyday habits, these habits are intimately connected to our attitude towards life.\u00a0 An attitude tainted with greed, urging us to increase our possessions, will result in a habit of accumulation.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Once we have become addicted, we continue to amass more things which, in turn, cause us to stumble and fall deeper into distractions,\u00a0 worries, and chaos.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 Therefore, we need to tackle this problem with the right tool, that is, we must seek its root cause in order to resolve it.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">As we strive to live according to God&#39;s will, we must, first, get rid of everything in our life that doesn&#39;t please God. \u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Simply put, we need to let go of or reject all things that cannot lead us to God.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>These excessive possessions could be the result of our greed or desire to take advantage of perks, or more often, our constant worrying; such worrying is rooted in our insecurity.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>These possessions can only give us a false sense of security; a mirage that can never fix the heart of the problem. <\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Knowing that if we place our complete trust in God, who will provide everything we need, we no longer need to feel anxious about life and amass things to appease our worries.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_testimonial author=&#8221;(Matthew 6:25-34)&#8221; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> <strong>Are you not of more value than they?<\/strong><\/span> And can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? And why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you\u2014you of little faith? Therefore do not worry, saying, &#34;What will we eat?&#34; or &#34;What will we drink?&#34; or &#34;What will we wear?&#34; For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things, but strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring worries of its own. You cannot serve God and wealth.&#34;[\/et_pb_testimonial][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]The &#34;wealth&#34; discussed in this Gospel verse implies not only money, material or immaterial wealth, but also the act of<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> <strong>&#34;serving oneself&#34;.\u00a0 For instance, we may devote all our energy chasing success to fulfil our endless ambitions, as well as trying to achieve goals beyond our abilities and calling, boasting our social status, reputation or fame.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>However, these accomplishments which we try to attain at all costs to make us look good on our resume do not represent our true identity.  They are not important in God&#39;s eyes, nor can they help us to become the person whom God wants us to be.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.8.2&#8243;
