_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_5_font=&#8221;|700|||||||&#8221; header_5_text_color=&#8221;#750059&#8243; header_5_font_size=&#8221;18px&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday\u2019s reflection focused on the necessity of having the appropriate mindset and positive attitude when confronting adversities and striving to fulfil our responsibilities as God\u2019s children.\u00a0 The key lies in our willingness to trust God with all our hearts.\u00a0 As well, we now understand that there is nothing terrifying about the devil on his own but we must be cautious against his ploy.\u00a0 But what is his trickery on this topic of \u201cmany things\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>On Day five of this retreat, we explored the phenomenon of busy-ness; most of us feel overwhelmed with busy-ness without knowing why and that we keep losing track of time for no reason.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>The devil\u2019s scheme is that he wants us to live a life<span style=\"color: #800080;\"> <strong>devoid of clarity and purpose <\/strong><\/span>while <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>labouring day-in and day-ou<\/strong>t<\/span>; making us blind to our identity as God\u2019s children, thus unable to fulfil our unique mission bestowed by God.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_2,1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Just like that, we would have missed the most important purposes of life, that is, to walk the <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>path of holiness<\/strong><\/span>, as well as <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">accompany<\/span> <\/strong>and <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">lead<\/span> <\/strong>more people to know and love God through <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>evangelization <\/strong>and <strong>charitable works<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>However, we cannot possibly achieve these ultimate goals in life without a plan.\u00a0 The devil\u2019s conspiracy is to prevent and disrupt us from making proper life plans. \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>The testimonies of those who had come face to face with death have affirmed that the most important thing in life is not our work or accomplishments, but our relationships with others.<\/strong><\/span>\u00a0 However, since many people spend excessive time on work, they tend to neglect spending time on\u00a0 relationships with others, making these relationships vulnerable. Therefore, the primary target of the devil is this: to drive a wedge in and destroy our relationships; and certainly, he will, first,\u00a0 go after our closest relationships because that will affect and hurt us the most. The most obvious relationships are the one between God and ourselves as well as relationships in a marriage and family.\u00a0 This can explain why many people have left the Church, and the serious distortion and confusion in society\u2019s understanding and definition of marital relationship.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We need to recognize that the devil is the father of lies (ref. John 8:44); he is also the master of \u201caccusation\u201d and \u201cdivision\u201d.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The devil often takes advantage of the situations when problems plague our relationships with our closest loved ones.\u00a0 He will try to incite misunderstanding and tear apart our relationships, and proceed in his work of creating further division.\u00a0 <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Our mutual accusations and arguments allow the devil to aggravate our unresolved emotional pains and baggage; giving him free-range of power to achieve his goal of fracturing our relationships with others. <\/strong><\/span>\u00a0In this way, he keeps adding to our already heavy burden of \u201cmany things\u201d; distracting us from achieving our ultimate goals in life. We can be certain that the devil will never ease up on his work of destruction; therefore, he will keep us busy and send us running in circles, until both our \u201cself\u201d and our most important relationships collapse.\u00a0 In extreme situations, we may fall prey to depression, or other emotional illnesses.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Even the most difficult problem in our \u201cwork\u201d will have a solution; however, when deep fractures appear in \u201crelationships\u201d, extra effort and thoughtfulness are needed to resolve and mend them.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>In addition, reconciliation also requires a lot of time.\u00a0 Similarly, the process of healing also takes a long time and lots of patience.\u00a0 In our impatient world, most people would choose the quickest and shortest way, leading to countless broken marriages and families.\u00a0 How our Heavenly Father has wept for us!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Such is the meticulous work of the devil, to turn our priorities upside down.
