_module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; header_5_font=&#8221;|700|||||||&#8221; header_5_text_color=&#8221;#750059&#8243; header_5_font_size=&#8221;18px&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>The theme of this retreat offers some very important reflective materials, especially for those who serve in the Church, those who carry out special missions, or in general, all those who labour for God.\u00a0 In fact, our journey of becoming followers of Jesus Christ is intricately related with that of Martha and Mary.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps, you may feel that the concerns and solutions discussed in last two weeks\u2019 materials are easier said than done.\u00a0 They demand our tremendous effort as well as determination.\u00a0 You may ask: how do I find time to examine my life in order to make positive changes?\u00a0 How do I break through my current dilemmas?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, the most difficult step is the breaking through!\u00a0 We all know that this is easier said than done; however, if we refuse to even take a first step during this Lent, all our introspection will be squandered.\u00a0 We will be, so to speak, back to square one; thus, the problem remains unresolved!\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">If we want to improve the situation, we must be willing to take the time.\u00a0 As mentioned in previous reflections, we need to, first, make an appropriate plan for ourselves, and follow through with it,\u00a0 step-by-step.\u00a0<\/span> <\/strong>At this stage, the key to success is that we must not regress, thus, adding to our already heavy burden.\u00a0 First and foremost, we shouldn\u2019t commit to any responsibilities that are beyond our duties.\u00a0 Secondly, we must identify the things in our everyday life that are \u201ctime wasters\u201d. <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>\u00a0In general, the detection of these \u201ctime wasters\u201d can be quite challenging.\u00a0 However, an effective starting point is to examine our day to day decisions, major or minor.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Many people would think that we only need to be shrewd when making decisions on the \u201cbig things\u201d, while the \u201csmall things\u201d don\u2019t really matter.\u00a0\u00a0 However, the many \u201csmall\u201d mistakes can easily culminate to \u201cbig\u201d mistakes.\u00a0 Ultimately, our erroneous decisions will bring us agony.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>Most of the \u201ctime wasters\u201d are rooted in our many wrong decisions on \u201csmall\u201d things.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/span>For this reason, we need to pay even more attention to the smallest or most insignificant decisions.\u00a0 We may believe that God\u2019s will applies only to great and important issues or situations; however, God desires us to follow His will even in the tiniest decision.\u00a0 In the Gospel of Luke, chapter 16, verse 10, Jesus said,<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_testimonial author=&#8221;(Luke 16:10) &#8221; background_color=&#8221;#d43b3e&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;bounce&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201cThe person who is trustworthy in very small matters is also trustworthy in great ones.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_testimonial][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>If we make every decision in our lives according to God\u2019s will, not only will we not deviate from Jesus\u2019s teachings, but also be able to fulfil the unique mission chosen by God for each one of us.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>You may ask: Most decisions in life are not simply about right or wrong, why should we care so much and be so particular about the process?\u00a0 Isn\u2019t it better to take it easy in life?<\/p>\n<p>The story of Jesus, Martha, and Mary offers us some inspirations (ref. Luke 10:38-42).\u00a0 Firstly, we can be assured that the services chosen by Martha and Mary are deemed equally beautiful and good by Jesus; however, Jesus said to Martha, \u201cthere is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her\u201d (Luke 10:42).\u00a0 In all our everyday small decisions, God knows the \u201cbetter\u201d choices. \u00a0This truth is, indeed, illuminated in this vignette for us.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>In truth, whatever God asks us to do right here and right now, we can only respond and fulfil it right here and right now.\u00a0 If we fail to seize the \u201chere and now\u201d to make the decision of responding to God, such missed opportunity can never be restored.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Yet, these \u201cbetter\u201d decisions are the ones that can help us to \u201cstop the bleeding\u201d, so that we may stop feeding the \u201ctime wasters\u201d in our lives.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.8.2&#8243;
