Matthew 25:14-30)?<\/p>\n<p>If we interpret this parable from a literal perspective, it appears that God can be quite calculating and shrewd, especially when it comes to the \u201ctalents\u201d that He has given us, and at the end He will demand us to return everything to Him with \u201cinterests\u201d!\u00a0 So, is God\u2019s love and gift for us not unconditional?\u00a0 Doesn\u2019t this contradict our image of God whom we believe?<\/p>\n<p>How shall we resolve this dilemma?\u00a0 Do we actually have freedom to choose how we use our God-given \u201ctalents\u201d?\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>We need to understand that, in fact,\u00a0 we are the stewards of God\u2019s gifts, that is, the \u201ctalents\u201d in the parable.\u00a0 We are asked to temporarily manage these talents and return them someday. \u00a0<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>So, when do we \u201creturn\u201d them?\u00a0 On the day of our departure from this world and returning to our Father\u2019s house, or when these \u201ctalents\u201d are no longer beneficial and useful for us, they will be \u201ctaken back\u201d.\u00a0 Therefore, <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">we shouldn\u2019t worry too much about how much \u201ctalents\u201d are given to us as they don\u2019t belong to us in the first place.\u00a0 The amount of gifts has no impact on how well we can utilize them to yield a profit for God.\u00a0 In fact, when we truly audit all the gifts that we received, we are richer than we think<\/span>. <\/strong>\u00a0One question remains: how shall we reconcile the fact that God demands us to return our \u201ctalents\u201d to Him, principles and interests included?<\/p>\n<p>We may be able to find some clues from the scene that follows the Parable of the Talents in the Gospel of Matthew, when Jesus discussed \u201cthe judgement of the nations\u201d (ref. Matthew 25:31-46). <span style=\"color: #800080;\"><strong>\u00a0In truth,\u00a0 it is by serving the least brothers and sisters of Jesus that we can best use our given talents. <\/strong><\/span>If we use our talents of \u201ccompassion\u201d and \u201clove\u201d, bestowed on us by our Heavenly Father, to care for the least of our sisters and brothers, the \u201ccompassion\u201d and \u201clove\u201d we received will be multiplied through our acts of kindness, just as the \u201ctalents\u201d being multiplied through wise investments.\u00a0 On the contrary, if we become a miser who refuses to use our \u201ctalents\u201d on the least of our sisters and brothers, these \u201ctalents\u201d will lose their purpose and become obsolete!<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Blockquote&#8221; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Such \u201cprivatized\u201d talents are no longer gifts and thus, have lost their intended purpose designated by God.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Certainly, God wishes us to fully utilize these talents to serve \u201cthe least\u201d, our sisters and brothers most in need.\u00a0 Their needs may be physical and material, or perhaps mental and spiritual. <strong><span style=\"color: #800080;\">As we care for their needs, Jesus wants us to follow His example and bring the full measure of the Good News of salvation to them, so that they may get to know our Lord Jesus Christ, the Saviour who can lead us to eternal life.\u00a0 As a result, they, the least of our sisters and brothers, will not only receive God\u2019s grace during their life on earth, but also share in the joy of eternal salvation at the end!\u00a0<\/span> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This, in fact, is the true meaning of \u201cliving for God\u201d; our earthly \u201cwork\u201d that is most pleasing to God.<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;1_2,1_2&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; locked=&#8221;off&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Our God who gives unconditionally does not want us to be perfect in \u201creciprocating love for love\u201d, rather, He only desires us to follow His example of sacrificing ourselves for others.\u00a0 In this way, we can truly live for the benefits of others in the name of \u201cliving for God\u201d.\u00a0 Indeed, such\u00a0 is our only way to return God\u2019s love for us.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.14.6&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221; animation_style=&#8221;fold&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>If every single Christian endeavours to fulfil this duty, we will be able to accomplish \u201cthe greater works\u201d commanded by Jesus.\u00a0 Indeed, such is our lifelong lesson!<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_testimonial author=&#8221;\uff08\u8def\u52a0\u798f\u97f3 12:48\uff09&#8221;
