I wonder what your answer was. If you have been following this retreat, I believe your answer is yes. But when you think about the theme of this retreat, &#8220;Finding God in All Things,&#8221; what comes to your mind? How does it make you feel? I&#8217;m sure you would agree that if you could find your ultimate love in all things, whether it&#8217;s your favourite &#8220;food&#8221;, &#8220;money&#8221; that makes you feel safe, or &#8220;happiness&#8221; that makes you satisfied, or an &#8220;achievement&#8221; that makes you confident, or most importantly, a &#8220;lover&#8221; who makes you excited and exhilarated, the world would be so much more beautiful!<\/p>\n<p>The lyrics of a popular Cantonese song \u201cNeed You Every Minute\u201d by George Lam came to mind:<\/p>\n<p>The Lyrics go like this:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">With you, I am happier, and I am content with everything.<br \/>Even frugal meals taste delicious.<br \/>I want to be with you forever; every minute, I need you.<br \/>You are like sunshine and air to me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u6709\u4e86\u4f60\u958b\u5fc3\u5572 \u4e5c\u90fd\u7a31\u5fc3\u6eff\u610f<br \/>\u9e79\u9b5a\u767d\u83dc\u4e5f\u597d\u597d\u5473<br \/>\u6211\u8207\u4f60\u6c38\u5171\u805a \u5206\u5206\u9418\u9700\u8981\u4f60<br \/>\u4f60\u4f3c\u662f\u967d\u5149\u7a7a\u6c23<\/p>\n<p>Isn\u2019t \u201cFinding Him in all things\u201d similar to what this song describes? Can we have a playful interaction with God? <strong>Can we amuse God in our daily lives? Can I be a fool for God?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If we have such a romantic relationship with God, wouldn&#8217;t &#8220;finding Him in all things&#8221; be our most anticipated and lifelong goal? If we truly have this romantic relationship with God, we wouldn&#8217;t want to lose Him. Instead, we would exhaust all efforts to pursue Him, cherish Him, and keep Him.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the most poignant part of the whole song:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">If I were to lose you one day, even blooming flowers wouldn&#8217;t be beautiful.<br \/>I&#8217;d rather live on a deserted island forever.<br \/>I would make a puppet like you, look at it every day<br \/>and act in front of it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u82e5\u6709\u671d\u5931\u5497\u4f60 \u82b1\u958b\u90fd\u4e0d\u7f8e<br \/>\u9858\u5230\u8352\u5cf6\u53bb\u9577\u4f4f<br \/>\u505a\u500b\u5047\u7684\u4f60 \u5929\u5929\u90fd\u76f8\u5c0d<br \/>\u5c0d\u6728\u982d\u516c\u4ed4\u505a\u6232<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the biggest difference between God and the other \u201cfavourites\u201d in our lives is that, if we are willing, we will never lose Him. So we should not make a fake &#8220;God&#8221;, performing acts with this puppet, to replace the once and for all, the true and eternal King of our lives, both in this life and in eternity.
