Day 1 (Feb 26) Final Destination

What would you like to achieve in these 40 days?
Who would you like to be at the end of your life?

“What you are is God's gift to you, what you become is your gift to God.”

- Hans Urs von Balthasar

Determination holds the key to receiving abundant graces from God through this spiritual retreat.
A seed achieves its mission (arrives at its destiny) when it becomes a fruitful tree. Imagine yourself a seed. As you fix your gaze on your destiny, your first decision is to allow yourself to be broken down, dying to yourself.
“Unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.” – John 12:24

The sure hope of rebirth begins only with first dying to oneself.

REFLECTION:

Am I determined enough to have a complete spiritual makeover during this Lent and to follow God's mission for me till the end? How prepared am I to first die to myself?

TODAY'S PRAYER

Lord, help my unbelief and my lack of determination to follow you to the end!
As my response to your invitation, Lord, I desire to spend more time with you today to listen to your word for me.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
